About

The last book of the bible has fascinated me since an early age.  I can remember as a young boy daring to read this book of dragons and beasts with many heads and the fiery end of the world.  It read more like something out of Lord of the Rings rather than the bible and it had a certain scare factor to it that was captivating.

As time went on the Left Behind series of books came out and I had a brief encounter with them (I had an American friend who had the books on audio and the film of the first book... which was awful).  These books seemed to coincide with a time where I realised that lots of people had something to say about the book of revelation.  I have to say that I was taken in by some of what was said and written but it had more to do with other peoples insights rather than with the book itself.

Over the last few years I have looked at the book of revelation in much more detail through sermon preparation and various studies I have been through.  More recently I have become interested in trying to put something together that offers some honest insight and research into revelation and connected parts of the bible that get merged into its story.  This blog contains that thinking, research, insight, and questions partly so I have record of it for future use but also for others who may be just as interested to read through, comment on, and take away for their own exploration or study.

I am no Greek scholar or New Testament academic but a fairly ordinary man who has grown up in the church and now works within one.  I offer this not in anyway as a definitive guide but maybe as a starting place for others or helpful overview of what for some is a no go book.  What ever it is I hope it inspires people to seek God and grow in relationship with him.
